Visa Application
The Embassy of the Republic of Chad in Canada informs its citizens living in Canada that, as of March 1, 2024, the fees for consular documents submitted by Chadians and dual nationals (Chadian-Canadians) are set as follows:
1) Visas:
The regulatory processing time for a visa application is 7 working days.
Visa fees:
- 1 month single entry ................................................ $CAN 100.00
- 3 months multiple entries ......................................... $CAN 150.00
- 6 months multiple entries ......................................... $CAN 200.00
• Express processing in 1 day .............................. Additional $CAN 50.00
• Express processing in 3 days ........................... Additional $CAN 25.00
Payment methods: certified cheque, money order only, made payable to the Embassy of Chad in Canada.
2) Laissez-passer: .................................................. $CAN 50
3) Birth, marriage, and death certificates: ............ $CAN 50
4) Consular card: ........................................................ $CAN 50
5) Authentication of driver's licenses: .................... $CAN 50
6) Legalization of powers of attorney and contracts: ............... $CAN 50

Note: Parental authorization is required if the child is not traveling with both parents.

Embassy of Chad in Canada - Visa Information
Foreigners traveling to Chad must have a valid passport and visa, except for citizens of the following countries: Benin, Burkina-Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Nigeria, Niger. Citizens of these countries can enter Chad with a valid passport or authorization.
Holders of diplomatic, official passports, or any other travel documents issued by an international organization are exempt from visa fees.
Visa application process at the Embassy of Chad:
- A valid passport with at least two blank pages;
- A duly completed application form;
- Two (02) identity photos meeting the standards;
- A letter from the employer indicating the reason for travel with the departure date;
- A round-trip airline ticket or a valid reservation from a travel agency indicating the itinerary;
- An invitation letter authenticated by a notary;
- A prepaid envelope for the return of passports sent by mail.
All these documents must be submitted with the passport. An incomplete application
will be rejected.

The regulatory processing time for a visa application is one week.
Payment methods:
Certified cheque, money order only, made payable to the Embassy of Chad in Ottawa.
